DENMARK’S FIRST INTERNATIONAL ORCHESTRA FESTIVAL

The Carl Nielsen Festival will debut August 26-30, 2022, on the picturesque island of Funen with an impressive line-up of top international orchestras.

Odense is home base for the festival's guest orchestras, as well as the prom concert with the Odense Symphony Orchestra. Meanwhile, chamber music concerts are performed at selected Funen manors with soloists from the symphonic concerts in rare musical celebrations of the best of Danish music life.

ORCHESTRATED CONCERT EXPERIENCES

In its very first year, the Carl Nielsen Festival has assembled an impressive line-up of top-tier international musicians. In Odense Concert Hall, you can experience guest orchestras like the Philharmonia Orchestra with Tugan Sokhiev; Oslo Philharmonic with Klaus Mäkelä and violinist Isabelle Faust; and the WDR Sinfonieorchester conducted by Cristian Măcelaru. A short trip outside Funen’s capital brings you to the unique surroundings of Funen manors, where chamber concerts are performed by the Danish String Quartet and Trio Con Brio together with Daniil Trifonov, Maxim Rysanov, Gautier Capuçon, and Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider, among others.

After a long festival day, Anarkist Bar is open to enjoy a meal, a drink, and a relaxed moment savoring the sounds of folk music trio Dreamers’ Circus.
